6 steps every prescription goes through

A prescription is an agreement between you and your doctor, and our role is to dispense it correctly and make sure you understand each medicine. Here's what happens from the moment you hand it over until you leave.

1Receiving the prescription

At the branch, or as a clear photo on WhatsApp. If the prescription has more than one page, send all of them.

2Reading and checking

The pharmacist reads the whole prescription and checks each medicine's name, strength and dose. If a word is unclear, we ask instead of guessing.

3Asking about the full picture

We ask about any other medicines you take, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, to make sure nothing interacts.

4Availability and alternatives

If an item is out of stock, we tell you clearly. We never swap an item for an equivalent until we have explained the difference and you agree.

5Explaining the dose

We explain each medicine: how many times a day, before or after food, and when to stop or continue, and we write it on the box.

6Follow-up after dispensing

If you forget something or notice any symptom, call the branch and the pharmacist will answer.

Our promise to you: we never dispense a prescription-only medicine without a prescription, we never switch an item without explaining and getting your agreement, and if you need a doctor we'll tell you clearly.

Gessraha Pharmacies services in detail

These services are available at our branches unless the branch page says otherwise.

Prescriptions dispensed with pharmacist guidance

The pharmacist goes through the prescription with you and explains each medicine: the dose, the timing, and before or after food.

A prescription isn't just a piece of paper to be filled. A small mistake in reading a medicine's name or strength can make a big difference, so the pharmacist reads the whole prescription, checks the name, strength and dose, and asks about any other medicines you take or allergies you have before dispensing.

Pharmacist advice

Ask the pharmacist about any medicine or product: how to take it, what it interacts with, and who it suits.

The pharmacist is the health professional closest to you. Ask about minor symptoms or a medicine your doctor prescribed, or choose the right product for your skin or your child together. If you need a doctor, the pharmacist will tell you clearly.

Home delivery of medicines

Order by phone or WhatsApp and we deliver to your home, with a link to track it until it arrives. Delivery has a fee that depends on your area.

Ideal for older people, mothers, people on long-term medicines and anyone who can't go out. In Kafr El-Zayat, delivery runs daily from 9 am to midnight; in Tanta, call the branch for delivery hours. Every delivery order comes with a tracking link on your phone, so you can see where your order is and when the courier will arrive.

Ordering on WhatsApp

Send a photo of the prescription or the product name, and the pharmacist replies with availability and prepares your order.

The fastest way to order. Take a clear photo of the prescription and add your address if you want delivery. If an item is out of stock, the pharmacist tells you before preparing the order.

Long-term condition medicines

Blood pressure, diabetes, heart and thyroid medicines prepared for you every month, without having to search for them.

If you take the same medicines every month, send the prescription or a photo of the boxes before you run out, and we'll prepare or deliver them. That way you never miss a dose.

Blood pressure check

Blood pressure checks at the branch at any time.

Regular blood pressure checks help you and your doctor see how your treatment is working. The reading is taken while you're seated and relaxed, and the pharmacist tells you when you need to go back to your doctor.

Blood sugar check

Blood sugar checks at the branch with a small drop of blood.

Useful for people with diabetes who want to confirm a reading, and for anyone with symptoms who wants reassurance. Results in minutes.

Skin and hair care

Pharmacy skin and hair care from well-known brands, with advice that suits your skin type.

Instead of trying lots of products, tell the pharmacist your skin type and concern (breakouts, dryness, dark spots, sensitivity, hair loss) and they'll suggest a simple routine that suits you.

Mother and baby

Baby formula, nappies, feeding essentials and baby skincare.

The pharmacist helps you choose the right formula milk for your baby's age, care products for sensitive baby skin, and pregnancy and breastfeeding essentials.

Vitamins and supplements

Vitamins and supplements for adults, children and pregnant women, carefully chosen.

Not every supplement suits everyone. The pharmacist asks about your age and your medicines before recommending a vitamin or supplement, so you get what you actually need.

Cash and card payment

Pay in cash, by bank card or by contactless mobile payment (NFC).

All our branches accept bank cards and contactless payment, as well as cash.
